The Calendar Menu package contains the Calendar Menu Control Panel, which places a calendar menu in the menu bar, and the Calendar Menu Control Strip module, which places a calendar menu in the control strip. Both menus show you the current day of the month when they are not "popped open", and show you a small monthly calendar when they are opened.
Note: The "Calendar Menu Strip" control strip module requires Apple's Control Strip program, which is a system software component available with the MacOS since System Software 7.5.3. You must have the control strip control panel installed in order to use the Calendar Menu (or any other) control strip modules.

• Calendar Menu control panel requires PowerPC based Macintosh
• Calendar Menu strip requires Apple's Control Strip program.
Installation
The Calendar Menu package archive will expand to a folder named "Calendar Menu" which contains the control stip module and the control panel. You can install the control panel, the control strip module or both. They are completely independant programs. To install the modules, perform the steps below:
• To install the Calendar Menu control panel: Copy the file “Calendar Menu” to the “Control Panels” folder inside the “System” folder on your startup disk.
• To install the control strip module: Copy the file “Calendar Meun Strip” to the “Control Strip Modules” folder inside the “System Folder” on your startup disk.
• Re-start your computer.
You can use the Extension Manager to selectively enable/disable the calendar menu control panel at any time. In the unlikely event that these conponents conflict with other software in your system, you can start your system with "Extensions Off" by holding down the SHIFT key when starting up, then you can remove these files from the Control Panels and Control Strip Modules folders.
Note: To make sure the control strip program is "visible", choose "Control Strip" from the control panels folder and check the "Show control strip" option. The control strip program ships with Apple's System Software as an optional component that may or may not be installed on your computer. If it is not already installed, you can install it from the System CD using the Custom Install option and locating the Control Strip control panel extension.
Using the Program
After installation and restart, you will notice the Calendar Menu icon in the menu bar on the right hand side next to the Application menu. The icon shows the current day of the month. Clicking on the menu pops up this month's calendar with the current day highlighted. Open the Calendar Menu control panel to set options to suite your personal preferences.
After the control strip module is installed, the current day is displayed in the control strip. Click on this icon to pop up a calendar showing the current month. For more information on using Apple's Control Strip program, consult the online guide that comes with your computer.
